Recent ActivityClassroom assignments/homework Class assignments Today (12/07/09) I assigned each student a biographical book report. Half of the class visited the library this afternoon and checked out a bio and, tomorrow the rest the students will do the same thing. There are over 2 weeks for the students to read their books and start the book report. If they have it finished before holiday break they may turn it in...if not it is due Jan 4th.
The writing assignment for this week is to write a persuasive letter to one of the administrators about something the student would like to see added to or deleted from the school. Tonigth they should brain storm ideas and make a 4 Square and begin the writing process. The letter is due this Friday. Since we have the writing SOL in March this will be a weekly assignment. They will be given the prompt on Monday and it is due Friday. Class assignmentsDue Dec. 8th (Tuesday) poem/questioning description of a state of matter (solid, liquid or gas). The student will select an object and use questions to describe. They will then draw a picture of that object as the answer on another sheet of paper. I will give the paper to students after they present rough copy of poem/discription. I gave the class an example of using a coke can as the object and then writing information so that the reader will guess what the type of matter it is. This project will count for both a Science and a writing grade. Thursday the 3rd my math class will have a test on graphs.
